New Strand Lead for Children & Young People
Added on Thursday 11 Feb 2010
Many thanks to Ivan Wintringham from the Regional Youth Work Unit for his work on the Strand- he has now moved on to other work and Gill Middleton from Children England has taken the reins. In an interview with Gill she says:
I work for Children England which is a national membership organisation which represent organisations that support the children and young people’s Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS). I have been in post as the VCS Engage Regional Development Manager for four months now and work across the North East region. The project is funded by the Department for children, schools and families (DCSF) to support the infrastructure organisations working with children and young people’s organisation around the Every Child Matters (ECM) agenda. The VCS Engage role has five areas to its remit, including Safeguarding, Representation, Commissioning, Equalities and Workforce Development.
I have an additional role to promote and develop the Safe Network which is the national Safeguarding unit for the third sector.
